U.S. Judges Condemn Camp X-Ray
Judges and lawyers from around the world yesterday condemned the US treatment of detainees at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba as a violation of international law. The International Bar Association's task force on international terrorism said: "States cannot hold detainees, for which they are responsible, outside of the jurisdiction of all international courts ."

The International Red Cross reiterated its criticism of Washington on Friday for ignoring repeated appeals to give legal rights to U.S. military detainees at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. ICRC officials, after a visit to the military base, said many detainees were suffering “a worrying deterioration” in mental health because they are held without charges and without legal counsel.
